Blue Skies Pottery Hoboken: Holiday Gifts, Wheel Classes and Workshops

Looking for a holiday gift that is an experience instead of another thing to unwrap? Blue Skies Pottery in Hoboken, Hudson County, NJ, teaches wheel throwing and handbuilding to adults and kids, hosts private pottery parties and sells gift cards, which makes it one of our favorite creative gift ideas in town this season.

The studio had its soft opening in August 2022 and has since grown to locations in Long Branch (June 2024) and Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania (November 2025). Here is what our team confirmed on the official site.

One-Time Wheel Classes for Adults

If you have always wanted to try the wheel, start here. One-time adult wheel classes run 90 minutes and start at $85. It is an easy date night, a fun outing with a friend or a gift for the person who has everything.

Multi-Week Courses Starting Soon

Ready to commit? Blue Skies runs multi-week wheel and handbuilding courses from $85 per week. The Fall 2 session runs November 2 to December 20, and registration is open now. Winter 1 runs January 4 to February 21, with registration opening November 16, so a spot in the winter session could make a thoughtful gift to pair with a card. Serious potters can also look at the studio membership at $350 per month.

Classes for Kids and Families

• Youth one-time classes: ages 9 and up, 90 minutes. Each student keeps one piece, ready about 3 to 4 weeks later
• Grown-Up and Me wheel: for ages 7 to 17 with an adult
• Handbuilding: an option for younger kids

Because finished pieces take a few weeks to be ready, book early if you want a handmade mug or bowl in time to give as a holiday present.

Private Pottery Parties

Planning an office party, birthday or friends’ night out? Private events need at least 6 guests. Wheel parties are $85 per person for 90 minutes (ages 10 and up), and handbuilding parties are $75 per person for 60 minutes (ages 5 and up). Keeping a piece is $15 each.
