Events, new openings and weekend plans from Hoboken to Bayonne, Jersey City to Secaucus. Straight to your inbox, free.
Ice skating in Hudson County centers on Newport Skates, the seasonal outdoor rink on the Jersey City waterfront that runs from November through March, plus the indoor Korpi Ice Rink in Bayonne, whose 2026 to 2027 public sessions are already underway. Here are the public rinks in and right next to Hudson County, with the hours and prices each one has posted for this season.
Whether you live in Jersey City, Hoboken or the North Hudson towns, one of these rinks is a short trip away. We note clearly where a rink has not posted its 2026 schedule yet, and we update this guide as rinks open for the season.
Newport Skates, Jersey City
Newport Skates is Hudson County’s best known outdoor rink, set at The River Market on the Jersey City waterfront with the Manhattan skyline across the river. Newport says the rink is open from November through March, and it is a good place to learn, with drop in classes, group classes and private lessons offered through Fireworks Skating Academy. Skate rentals and skate aids are available on site in all sizes, and the rink also hosts birthday parties. Tickets are sold online only and must be bought before you arrive. The rink has not announced its 2026 to 2027 opening date yet; last season it opened in late November.
- Address: 95 River Drive South, Jersey City, NJ 07310
- Hours (as posted by the rink): Monday to Thursday 4 to 9 p.m., Friday 4 to 10 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; weather and holiday changes are posted on the rink’s social pages

Korpi Ice Rink at Bayonne High School, Bayonne
If you want to skate indoors without paying big rink prices, the Bayonne School District’s Korpi Ice Rink is the best deal in the county. Its 2026 to 2027 public skating season runs from October 9 through March 21, with regular sessions every weekend. The rink adds extra afternoon sessions from 2 to 3:15 p.m. on school days off, including Thursday, November 5, Wednesday, December 30, Monday, January 18 and Monday, February 15. The rink is also home to youth hockey and the Bayonne Blades skate school.
- Address: Bayonne High School, 28th Street and Avenue A, Bayonne
- Public sessions: Fridays 8:30 to 9:45 p.m., Saturdays 5 to 6:30 p.m., Sundays 2:45 to 4 p.m., October 9, 2026 to March 21, 2027
- Cost: Adults $10, students $5, skate rental $5

Secaucus Ice Rink, Secaucus
The Town of Secaucus runs its own ice rink, which hosted public skating last season, including a free Patriots Night skate on January 22, 2026. The rink operates seasonally from fall into early spring. The town has not posted its 2026 to 2027 public skating hours or prices yet, so call the rink before you go and check the town calendar for free skate nights.

The Rink at The Arena at American Dream, East Rutherford
Just over the county line in the Meadowlands, a short drive from Secaucus, American Dream’s rink is an NHL regulation size indoor rink under a glass atrium. It is climate controlled and open year round for public skating, figure skating and hockey, so it is a reliable backup when the weather shuts down outdoor ice. Admission includes one hour of skating and skate rentals.
- Address: 1 American Dream Way, East Rutherford, NJ 07073
- Hours: Public skating times vary; check the rink page before you go
- Cost: $25 non peak, $35 peak general admission, including skate rental
- Website: The Rink at The Arena
What About Hoboken and Jersey City Heights?
We did not find a public ice rink operating in Hoboken for the 2026 season, so for ice skating near Hoboken, Newport Skates is the closest option, just south of the Hoboken line. In Jersey City Heights, the Charlie Heger rink at Pershing Field is closed, so it is not included on this list.
Ice Skating Tips
Buy Newport Skates tickets online before you leave home, since the rink does not sell them at the door. Bring gloves and dress in layers for the outdoor rink, and check each rink’s social pages for weather closures. For Newport Skates, take the PATH to Newport or the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail to the Newport stop and walk to The River Market, or use the River Market Garage. Make a December night of it by pairing a skate with one of the Christmas tree lightings in Hudson County.
