Hudson County, NJ has a front-row seat to the most famous skyline in the world, and some of the best seats are at the dinner table. Our team rounded up 9 restaurants where the Manhattan view comes with the meal, with most of our picks in Weehawken and West New York. Every spot below was checked on its own website, and we link to each one so you can confirm hours and book.
1. Blu on the Hudson, Weehawken
Blu on the Hudson opened in 2023 on the Weehawken waterfront at 1200 Harbor Boulevard, and it is built around the view, with spaces that look straight across the Hudson at the city. The menu is contemporary American with steak, seafood, sushi and house-made pasta. Dinner starts at 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday, with weekend brunch from noon to 3 p.m. Check the dress code on the site before you go.
2. Molos, Weehawken
At Molos, 1 Pershing Road, floor-to-ceiling windows on two stories overlook the skyline. It is a Greek and Mediterranean seafood restaurant, and the signatures are whole fish from its display fish market and saganaki flamed tableside. The bar features Greek wines, and there is a sunset prix fixe menu worth a look.
3. The Highwood, Weehawken
The Highwood sits at 500 Avenue at Port Imperial with views of New York City and a rustic but polished room. Chef Orlando Clemente’s scratch menu runs from the Highwood Burger to a NY strip with black garlic butter. It stays open late, until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and serves brunch too.
4. NoHu Rooftop Bar and Restaurant, Weehawken
For a view from up high, head to NoHu on the roof of the EnVue, Autograph Collection hotel at 550 Avenue at Port Imperial. The hotel calls it Weehawken’s only rooftop. Expect cocktails and American small plates, and in the colder months the firepits make it cozy.
5. Charrito’s, Weehawken
Up on the cliffs, Charrito’s at 974 JFK Boulevard East pairs authentic Mexican food with what the restaurant itself calls a “Great NYC View.” It is the most casual pick on our list and opens for lunch at 11:30 a.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. on weekends.
6. Son Cubano, West New York
Son Cubano, at 40-4 Riverwalk Place on the West New York waterfront, is dedicated to the glamour of 1950s Cuba: vintage decor, modern Cuban-influenced cuisine, live music and a full view of the Manhattan skyline. It is a fun choice for a celebration or a night of dancing.
7. Battello, Jersey City
Battello sits out on the water at 502 Washington Boulevard in Newport. Dinner runs nightly from 5 p.m., lunch is weekdays and brunch is Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is steps from the Newport PATH station and the Newport light rail stop, and there is limited first-come parking on the pier.
8. Hudson and Co., Jersey City
Hudson and Co. is a big one: a 12,000-square-foot, 300-seat modern American restaurant at 3 Second Street in the Harborside district. The restaurant says every part of the space has views of the Manhattan skyline. The menu ranges from tuna tartare rice cakes and sushi to wood-fired pizzas and a 32-ounce tomahawk.
9. Blue Eyes, Hoboken
On the Hoboken waterfront at 525 Sinatra Drive, Blue Eyes serves authentic Italian food, from burrata and calamari to pasta and Napoletana-style pizza, with an unforgettable view of Manhattan. Reservations are taken for parties of 6 or more at (201) 683-6861, and smaller groups are welcome on a walk-in basis.
Tips for a Skyline Dinner
- Time it for sunset. In November the sun sets early, so an early dinner gets you the golden hour and the lights coming on.
- Ask for a window. When you book, request a table by the glass.
- Take transit. Several of these spots are near the light rail, PATH or ferry.
