The start and finish are at Pier A Park, and the course runs along Hoboken’s waterfront with Manhattan skyline views the whole way. It is the only race in Hudson County this season with a 10K option, and the 10K course is USATF certified, which makes it a good pick if you are chasing a personal record.

- Times: 1 Mile Fun Run at 8:30 a.m.; 10K and 5K at 9:30 a.m.

The organizers say the race fills up every year. Awards go to the top three male and female finishers overall and in each age group, and the post race scene includes music and hot chocolate. Limited bib pickup is available at the start on race morning, but early pickup on Friday night is the way to skip the line. You can pick up a bib for a friend or family member if you bring a copy of their confirmation email.

What About the Rest of Hudson County?
We also looked for 2026 Thanksgiving races in Weehawken, Union City, West New York, North Bergen, Secaucus, Kearny and Harrison, and none had a race posted on a registration site when we published this guide. If one is announced, we will add it here.
Want a race before Thanksgiving week? The student led Weehawken 5K for Food Justice runs on the Weehawken waterfront in mid November; see our Weehawken 5K for Food Justice guide for details. And if you missed it this year, put the HoBOOken 5K at Pier A on your calendar for next October.
Which Turkey Trot Should You Pick?
- Want a 10K or a fast course? Hoboken is the only race with a 10K, and it is USATF certified.
- Want to run on Thanksgiving morning? Choose Jersey City or Bayonne. Both start the 5K at 10 a.m., which leaves plenty of time to get home and start cooking.
- Bringing little kids? All three have a 1 mile fun run an hour before the main race. Bayonne’s untimed, park setting is the most low key.
- Hosting out of town family? Jersey City’s waterfront course has the best photo backdrop, with the Statue of Liberty across the water.
Race Day Tips: Parking, Transit and Timing
- Jersey City: Take the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail to Essex Street, a short walk to the start, or the PATH to Exchange Place, about an 8 minute walk south. The Paulus Hook ferry terminal is about 3 minutes away. Drivers can try metered street parking or the LM Liberty Parking garage at 33 Hudson Street, which the organizers call the closest option. Arrive early, since parking fills fast on race morning.
- Hoboken: Pier A Park is a short walk from Hoboken Terminal, where the PATH, NJ Transit trains, light rail and ferries all stop. Street parking in Hoboken is tight, so transit is the easy choice.
- Bayonne: Bayonne County Park is on Kennedy Boulevard along Newark Bay. Give yourself time to find check in by the bathrooms inside the park.
- Register early: Prices rise at the deadlines above, and the organizers note these races fill up.
- Dress in layers: All three courses are on the water, and late November mornings by the river or bay can be cold and windy.
