Hoboken’s Mile Square is packed with small businesses, and a growing number of them are founded and run by women. Our team rounded up five woman-owned businesses in Hoboken, NJ, from a private shopping boutique and a custom cookie studio to a loose leaf tea company, a boutique fitness hub and an interior design firm. Each woman-owned claim below comes straight from the business’s own website or a public profile, so you can shop with confidence.
1. Somewear in Between

Somewear in Between is a private shopping boutique in Hoboken founded by Morgan, who left a career in finance to open it. The boutique describes itself as “woman founded, woman-owned”, and its 400 square foot showroom offers one-on-one styling for events, vacations or a closet refresh. Local Hoboken orders get free delivery, and the shop ships nationwide.
2. For Cup Sakes

For Cup Sakes designs and hand-decorates custom sugar cookies for birthdays, showers, corporate events and more. Founder and owner Caroline runs the whole operation, and the site calls it a woman-owned small business based in Hoboken. Every cookie is made in a 100 percent nut-free kitchen, and logos can be printed or hand scribed for branded events.
3. Hoboken Tea Company

Hoboken Tea Company is a woman-owned tea company founded by Brooke LaFlamme, a certified tea sommelier with a PhD in genetics. Her loose leaf teas and caffeine-free herbal blends, like Sunrise on the Hudson and Hoboken Breakfast, are hand-packed in New Jersey. Find them online, at local markets around town and at a shop on Newark Street.
4. Prime Cycle + Body

Prime Cycle + Body, at 86 River Street, is led by owner and founder Julie Insogna-Jarrett, and the studio calls itself Hoboken’s premier woman-owned boutique fitness destination. What started as a single spin studio now offers cycle, reformer Pilates, heated sculpt and strength classes under one roof.
5. Samaan Design Group

Samaan Design Group is an interior design firm at 221 River Street led by founder and principal designer Kathy Samaan. The firm is listed as woman owned on its Houzz profile and takes on residential and commercial interior projects.
